I guess I'm off to a late start this month. I didn't have a whole lot going on a couple of weeks ago, and had to control myself from writing this blog before Christopher actually turned 10 months old. Then one thing happened, then another, then another, and now I'm practically two weeks behind. It's been a little while, but I'll try to remember all the details of month 9.

I guess the big news is that he's definitely moving. When ever and where ever. If he's not crawling to what he wants then he's walking along furniture to get there. Christopher has definitely mastered the art of walking while holding onto Daddy's fingers and he has taken those accidental steps while trying to catch his balance, but I wouldn't consider it walking. Although, he has accomplished major feats for a baby his size (most larger babies take longer to learn balance). He's mastered pulling up - probably in month 8 - and he's doing well walking around furniture and toys. The best part is watching him stand completely still without holding onto anything. It's like he knows that if he even twitches his pinkie - he will fall over. I think we've counted up to a full 60 seconds of standing on his own.
Christopher can also now say he has 4 teeth. His top two teeth have broken through and boy are they chompers! I'm happy he didn't get my tiny teeth. But wow, are these teeth humongous! His left front tooth has come in much farther than his right. This is all a toy's fault. He was standing next to a toy one day, lost his balance, fell, and split his lip. His lip split because he landed just perfectly so that the front tooth that was waiting to come through, did. But I guess it was better than endless nights of teething, right? He had a puffy lip for about 4 hours which made him look like Elvis when he smiled. And of course it made Brian and I laugh.
Christopher is also very much into the conversation these days. He will talk your ear off. Of course he's been talking since he was four months old? I think. But not in sentences. At least that what it sounds like. He will look at you, babble something, laugh, and turn to crawl away. It will knock you on your butt laughing. He's very serious about these things that he has to tell you, but then he always laughs about it afterwards.
He's also picking up on a lot of facial expressions that we make. He's constantly trying to mimic what Brian and I do. Actually, Dodi taught him how to make a raspberry during her last trip here. It's pretty funny. I've tried getting it on camera, but of course, he never wants to do it when a camera is in his face. Once, I get it I'll be sure to put it on here. But speaking of videos, you should check out the video below of Christopher dancing. It's a riot. Brian turned on the music on his phone and he just went to town. Christopher will pretty much dance to any music these days. He danced to Jennifer Hudson singing the National Anthem on TV the other day. But recently, he really likes the card my mom (Dodi) sent him for Valentine's Day. It's a musical card and every time you open the card "Good Morning Starshine" by Oliver plays. And Christopher just dances away. I think it's now his favorite song.
Speaking of Valentine's Day. Christopher got me the most beautiful flowers on Valentine's Day. He also bought some chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva. I think he also helped Daddy pick out the slippers I received. Brian's present, Cardinal's baseball tickets, were from both Christopher and me.
So other than that, the only real milestone for the nine month mark that passed was his eye color. His eyes have stayed a gray-blue and looks like they will for years to come. Which I'm very excited about, they are a beautiful blue.

In the next month we look forward to Christopher's surgery (only two weeks away). I'm happy to finally have it done, but disappointed because we will be missing Camren's 1st birthday party that falls on the same weekend. It was the first birthday party we've been invited to and we can't even make it! Besides, I think if Christopher was old enough to pick a best friend it would probably be Camren. But I'm sure we'll find a way to make it up.
And since we're on the topic of birthdays, we've finally started planning Christopher's. You know me, it is my purpose in life to plan. Although, if I could just get started, I'd be fine. I really can't come up with an original theme. I'm not sure if I should stick with Dumbo, or move onto something else. If you have any suggestions, let me know - it will be here soon! Can you believe it? Christopher's birthday is only a month and a half away.... Were the heck does the time go?
Oh yeah, did you see the "heck" in the last sentence? We've decided since Christopher can copy my mother's raspberry, that he can copy our curse words. So we've cut the bad language out around him. Brian thinks his first words are going to be "Oh snap!"
We've also started watching what's on the television when he's around. It's actually pretty simple. All we have to do is turn on the weather channel. The poor child is glued to the television when the weather channel is turned on. He will stop what ever he is doing to turn and stare and the weather. It doesn't matter if it's the five day forecast, or an update on the hurricane in Jamaica. He's glued. Pretty funny actually. You can't snap him out of it unless you change the channel. Then he goes back to what ever he was doing like nothing happened. Hmmm... I wonder if there are subliminal messages being posted on the weather channel?

Well, that's all I've really got for this month. Although, Brian and I must give a shout out this month to our good friends Paul and Eunice who just gave birth to twins, Everette and Norah. I've posted their pictures and info below for everyone to enjoy. They were several weeks early, but everyone is doing fine. Mom is checking out of the hospital today, but their new baby boy and girl will be staying in the NICU for the next couple of weeks. Congratulations Paul and Eunice, we know you've wanted this for a long time and we couldn't be happier for you! Everette Lister & Norah Elaine Gatesh
