Dear Christopher,
You have an amazing father. At the moment, you already know this. At the moment, your father is your best bud. You jump up and down every time you see him come home from work. You laugh and giggle with him until the day is done. But I wanted to write you this letter so you can see just how much he adores and loves you. I know there will come a day when you are a rebellious teenager and you probably won't agree with the things we say or do. There will come a day when you are embarrassed to get kisses or hugs from us. And sadly, I know there will come a day when we are no longer around. But, just in case you forget, these are the reasons you have the best father in the entire world.

You're father knew you would exist on our second date. And he also knew that your name would be Christopher. Your father was the first person to hold and swaddle you. His face was as bright as the sun and I knew he couldn't have ever been happier. Your father was the person to change your first poopy diaper - and if that doesn't tell you he loves you, I don't know what does.

Your father stayed up with you at 2 a.m. every night to feed you until you were 7 months old. Whenever you smile, your father smiles. Your father lets me sleep in on Sundays and Mondays. You may think this is because he loves me, which is a little true, but I know the real reason is because he wants to be with you.

Your father gives you your bath. He would let you stay in there giggling for hours if I let him. Nothing makes your father happier than to sit on the floor and play with you. The only thing that might make him happier is when you squeal after he scares you during hide-and-seek.

Your father is the first person you see every morning, and the last person you see every night. This is only 2 of the 100 times he tells you he loves you each day.

Your father already knows you'll be an avid Cardinals fan. But at the same time your father is your biggest fan. To date, he has taken 647 pictures of you while you eat, 120 of you dancing, 89 of you sleeping, 1506 of you playing with toys, 58 of you frowning or crying, and 6938 of you smiling or laughing. Your father cannot get enough of you.

Your father plans on raising you the way his mother raised him. With a whole lot of love and freedom but just enough discipline. Your father knows you are going to become and amazing man. He knows he will love you no matter what you do in life and no matter how many mistakes you make.
Christopher, your father loves you.
