We had our 12 weeks check-up today. Peanut is looking good. Getting bigger. Growing arms. You know, the usual. He or she wasn't moving around as much as Christopher did at this age but we did get to see a few arm swings and leg kicks. Plus, we did notice one large noggin. But Christopher has an abnormally large head, so it's to be expected.

We ended up getting a second ultrasound due to an ovarian cyst they spotted the first go-around. At eight weeks it was larger than the baby - 6 centimeters. Dr. Snowden wanted to check and make sure it hadn't increased in size so we got a trip down the hall to Gale, the ultrasound tech.

I asked if she minded showing Brian the baby after she was done with what she needed to look at - since he wasn't there for the first viewing. Of course! she said. So we had a few minutes to view Baby Peanut. We listened to the heartbeat, and watched the squirming. When we were done she handed us a couple of pictures. What! You mean I don't have to beg for printouts like I did in Kentucky? That's insane! So we lucked out and have a new picture to show off. And thank goodness because the one before didn't look like much.

But all-in-all things are good. Dr. Snowden said he would typically schedule a surgery right away for such a large cyst, but I'm pregnant. He said it's best to wait and it will probably be removed at delivery.

Speaking of, we are opting for the cesarean this time around. Sorry to all my lady friends who believe a vaginal birth is the only way to go. It's just that I went through 27 hours of labor with Christopher before they decided to have a cesarean. He was 10 lbs., 5 oz. I probably wouldn't have been able to do it if I wanted to. And I also heard they get bigger as you go along.

C-Section it is!

So the due date in January 25/26 which means we'll have the scheduled cesarean a week earlier. Looks like we'll have a birthday around the 18th.

That's all the updates I have for now. Although I do have a hilarious video of Christopher that I plan on posting tonight or tomorrow, so please check back!
