It's official. Baby Daniels #2 (otherwise known as Peanut) will now be referred to as Carter. It's a boy! The ultrasound was so sure she told said "It's a boy!" two seconds after he appeared on screen. He was more than happy to show "himself" at every angle. There's no mistaking this one.

Because Brian and I never made any stakes for our girl/boy bet, I get bragging rights for the next four months - or 40 years, however you want to look at it.

I'm excited that Christopher will have a little brother to play with. Brian pointed out the fact that in 13 or 14 years Christopher will be mowing the lawn while Carter is weed wacking. Or another way to put it: Christopher will be shoveling the snow out of the driveway while Carter is scraping car windows.

His full name will be Carter Duke Daniels. Carter is after my maternal grandmother's maiden name and Duke is after my paternal grandmother's maiden name. We filled in Great-Granma Pat and Great-Gramma Marian  on the great news earlier today.

The good news is that we'll be able to re-use all of Christopher's monogrammed items. Not that we planned it that way. But I am hoping that we will be able to use some of Christopher's 0-3 months clothes that he was too big for.

Enjoy the pictures from our ultrasound below. Everything else turned out normal/okay. Including his size. They also told us that Christopher was "normal" size and we all know how that turned out. So I'm not believing anyone just yet.

Carter Duke Daniels

Yup. It's a boy!

Look, he has legs...

and a hand too!
More pictures to come, Winter 2011.

  1. wow 2 boys! good luck :) I love the name! I'm envious of people who can use family last names as first names, since I can't do that--all the last names in my family would be terribly first names: thorndike, mullaney, fahey... not happening :)

  2. I am so happy for the three of you!!! Christopher is going to have so much with a play buddy :) Love you!

  3. Congratulations!!! So happy for all of you! Siblings are so fun! We have such a good time with our girls. BTW- I LOVE how you picked the names, wonderful family history! Hope you are feeling well!
