Carter Makes his Debut

Carter Duke Daniels arrived this morning at exactly 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Mercy Medical Center.

I'll post the birth story when I have a little more time and I have slept a little more. But I can say that we received a gasp from every member of the surgical team when he was pulled out. This is starting to become a trend.

I was wheeled into the OR and Dr. Snowden said, "Well you're not having a 10 pounder this time. He's going to be much smaller." And the gallery agreed, "Yeah, there's no way."

WRONG. 9 lbs., 1 oz.

Well, he's not as big as Christopher was but Dr. Snowden made a valid point: Christopher was a week late, Carter was a week early. If Carter had stayed put for another two weeks he would have most likely hit the ten pound mark.

So I guess I'll be packing up the newborn baby clothes once again. No newborn Pampers for this fella. And I will probably put the 4 oz. bottles away without using them yet again.

But here's a big congratulations to my sister Beth who won the baby weight pool. She was right on the money. Must be sisterly intuition. She'll be receiving a copy of Toy Story I and II on DVD. Woohoo! Great guessing Beth!

Now here's what you've been waiting for... pictures. Here's a few. I'll post some more over the next few days. Didn't want to overwhelm you or anything.

One last bump picture before we were off to the hospital.
