It Runs in the Family

Baby Camouflage

So it looks like our blizzard predicted earlier this week came true for everyone except us. Our house just happened to be located in the 10 miles between the snow storm to the North and the ice storm to the South. So we ended up with about a quarter inch of ice and an inch of snow. Nothing like the full inch of ice and twenty inches of snow they forecast for our area.

But I guess that's a good thing right? Except for the fact that my pantry is now stocked with items I wouldn't normally eat unless there was an apocalypse on the horizon.

Also, because of the storm, we rescheduled Carter's two week check up to Thursday. A few days late. But hey, that just gave him extra time to pack on a few more ounces. Which he did. Carter isn't up to Christopher's birth weight yet, but he came close at 10 lbs., 2 oz. Which if my calculations are correct, is a pound in a week. (It took him one week to get back to his birth weight.)

He also grew an entire inch. Which makes me wonder if they had his length right when they measured him at birth. I only speculate because Christopher was 23 inches long and it was strange that Carter was only a pound smaller yet three inches shorter. Hmph.

Anywho. Things are going well in the Daniels household. Carter is sleeping well - knock on wood - and going back to sleep after his night feedings. He's only really fussy during diaper changes and about an hour before feedings which is when the gas man comes a knockin'.

Speaking of his sleeping habits, take a look at the video below. I think he inherited this from his father. It's not much now, but think of how small he is - it's only going to get louder as he gets bigger. But for now, turn the volume up on your computer.
